THE WORD

FIRST LESSON: Deuteronomy 26:5-10

Moses reminds God’s people of God’s actions on their behalf. He especially points out their deliverance from the misery, toil and oppression they had experienced in the land of Egypt.

PSALM OF THE DAY: Psalm 91 on page 100

God continues to watch over us and guard us. In love He sends the angels to deliver us from danger.

SECOND LESSON: Romans 10:8b-13

God’s Word proclaims to us the good news of salvation and works faith in our hearts through which we are saved. This faith expresses itself though an outward confession of faith in Jesus as Lord.

GOSPEL: Luke 4:1-13

Jesus begins His ministry by battling with the devil. The devil confronts Him with three temptations. Each time Jesus uses God’s Word to defeat Satan. Jesus’ victory over Satan started here.

ANNUAL VOTERS’ MEETING (continued) Mr. Paul Nowack was elected to be the new Mission Treasurer. Thanks to Mr. Allen Gutknecht who served in that capacity the last three years. Ushers: Mr. Paul Johnson and Mr. Daniel Ordorff were elected. Delegate to District Convention at MLC in New Ulm is needed.

THANK YOU to all who donated food, helped prepare and serve the soup supper on Ash Wednesday. A special thank you to all who came for supper and fellowship. The free-will offering was $280, expenses were $60. $220 was given toward reimbursing the Memorial Fund.

UPCOMING LWMS Spring Rally is scheduled for Sunday, March 21^st at Mt. Olive in Delano. Wise Penny Salad Luncheon is April 10, MLC Auxiliary is April 17^th. Sacred Concert at West LHS is Thursday March 18^th at 7:30 PM.
