THE WORD

FIRST LESSON: Acts 13:15,16a,26-33

On his first missionary journey, Paul preaches in the synagogue and gives an excellent summary of our Savior’s work. Jesus lived, died and rose again for us. He fulfilled God’s promise to send a Savior.

PSALM OF THE DAY: Psalm 23 on page72

The Lord is our shepherd who provides for all of our needs in life and in death.

SECOND LESSON: Revelation 7:9-17

Jesus, the Lamb of God, also serves as our shepherd. He lived and died and rose again that we might be cleansed from all our sins and live with Him in the perfection of heaven.

GOSPEL: John 10:22-30

Jesus, our Good Shepherd, speaks words of eternal life to us. We, He sheep, hear and believe the message of salvation and enjoy the assurance that God is protecting our faith.

WISE PENNY WLHS Garage and Bake Sale will be on Friday, May 1 from 4-8 PM ($2 fee per family) and Saturday from 8 AM – 4 PM. If you would like to donate items, pastor will get it there.

WELS CHURCH EXTENSION FUND loans money to mission congregations for facilities. They also pay interest to investors.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL will be from Aug 15-19 using a Western theme. All of you who would like to help as teachers, with crafts or food, please let me know. Men, women and teens are urged to consider helping.

FALL MISSION FESTIVAL will feature Mr. Chris Driesbach who was a member at one of our congregations (could be the only one) in New Orleans. He will provide music and talk about how he came to faith and be connected to a WELS congregation.
