THE WORD
FIRST LESSON: Acts 14:8-18
Instead of proclaiming salvation Himself, Jesus now uses faithful preachers, such as Paul and Barnabas to share the gospel with others.
PSALM OF THE DAY: Psalm 65 on page 89
Even though God will not be with us in forms we can see and hear, He continues to watch over us and bless us abundantly.
SECOND LESSON: Revelation 21:10-14,22,23
The center of the Church is the Lamb, our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the source of the glory and splendor enjoyed by the saints of heaven. They do not needs a sun or moon for the “light of the world” is also the “light” and “lamp” of heaven. The Lamb will continue to be with us and will finally bring us into His splendor.
GOSPEL: John 14:23-29
Jesus tells the disciples that He will leave them and return to His Father. He promised to send the Holy Spirit to teach us all things. He tells us not to worry for He leaves us His peace which lasts forever.
