FIRST LESSON: Deuteronomy 30:9-14
Moses reminds the Israelites, who were on the threshold of the Promised Land, that God would never be far from them if they followed God’s Word.
PSALM OF THE DAY: Psalm 25 on page 74
Especially in times of crisis, God’s people seek to be guided in God’s truth. We look to the Lord our refuge.
SECOND LESSON: Colossians 1:1-14
Paul thanks God for the faith of the Colossians—faith that springs up from the gospel and prays that God would fill them with the knowledge of His will to provide strength for fruitful lives.
GOSPEL: Luke 10:25-37
Christ’s parable of the Good Samaritan asserts that the important question for the Christian is not “Who is my neighbor?” but rather “To whom may I be a neighbor?’
