THE WORD

FIRST LESSON: Genesis 18:1-14

Abraham shows great love and respect for the three heavenly visitors. He believed the message that he and Sarah would have a son as God had promised.

PSALM OF THE DAY: Psalm 119A on page 109

The children of God “seek Him with all their heart” by hearing and obeying His Word.

SECOND LESSON: Colossians 1:21-29

As a servant of the gospel, Paul has no greater wish than to serve other people with the message of salvation.

GOSPEL: Luke 10:38-42

Mary made the better choice of sitting at Jesus’ feet listening to what He said. She is an example for us to serve the Lord by hearing His word.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL is being planned for this summer. Please set aside August 15-19^th in the evenings. We will have a Western Theme. INVITE UNCHURCHED CHILDREN TO OUR VBS. YOUR HELP is needed! We could use treats for the kids as well as other helpers.

QUARTERLY VOTERS’ MEETING will be after our worship service Sunday (July 22^nd). We will be accepting our confirmands and receive financial reports. We hope to have a bid about sealing the parking lot.

WEST LHS Golf Tournament will be on Monday, Aug 2^nd at Wild Marsh here in Buffalo. Final registration is due by July 23^rd. THE LUTHERAN HOME FOUNDATION is sponsoring is first bus trip to Vicksburg Mississippi from Sept 28-25^th, 2010. They will also stop at places like Graceland, Branson and the Gateway Arch.

UPCOMING Mission Festival is scheduled for the last Sunday in Sept. Chris Driesbach will use music and word. At one point he was from New Orleans and this is his way of thanking congregations for all the support given to New Orleans. We are also hosting the Fall Pastoral Conference for the Crow River Conference. It is mostly providing food and we will be having a meeting in August some time to plan. If you can help or provide food items, please let us know.
